Frequently asked questions

Is it important to keep my pool chemically balanced?

Balanced water is better water. An unbalanced pool can affect the operation of your pool including the condition of your equipment as well as the pool surface (concrete, vinyl, etc.). Most importantly, it can negatively affect your swimming experience by causing skin irritation, sore eyes, and other common issues. On the other hand, balanced water will protect the pool surface, equipment and provide a much more comfortable swimming environment.

How often should I test my pool water?

It is recommended residential pools are tested at least twice a week, in particular after large gatherings or swim parties.

One "turnover" is typically recommend in the industry, usually 8 to 12 hours in a residential pool. A popular method is to apply chemical adjustments at night, so that you sleep while they disperse. Commercial pools typically turnover a bit faster, between 6 and 8 hours.
